AMAÇLARI
This course provides an introduction and overview of fatigue theory and how it can be applied within the Fatigue Tool in ANSYS Mechanical to perform life prediction of structures subjected to cyclic loading. Fatigue is a failure mechanism where a material subjected to a repetitive stress will fail at a stress much lower than what is required to cause fracture on a single application of the load. Fatigue failure typically occurs without any obvious warning in engineering metals. This course will present;
- general fatigue definitions and theory including Stress Life and Strain Life fatigue approaches, which model high cycle and low cycle fatigue, respectively.
- the different ways of defining cyclic loading within the ANSYS Fatigue
Tool, including constant amplitude, non-proportional, and history
loading.
- input of fatigue material property definitions within Workbench.
- mean stress corrections and other adjustments to the fatigue calculations to account for real world conditions .
- the particular case of modeling fatigue in welds.
