This two-day course is for engineers who are new to digital design with VHDL. It demonstrates how to apply basic modeling techniques and tools to develop digital designs with VHDL. Topics include:

• Design of Digital Hardware
• VHDL Basics
• UART
• Concepts of Implementation with SPLD, CPLD, FPGA
• Circuits synthesized from VHDL code
• Number Representation and arithmetic circuits
• VHDL for combinational circuits
• VHDL for sequential circuits
• Finite State Machines
• Register Transfer Methodology (RTL)
• Testing of Logic circuits
• Implementation circuits with CPLD and FPGA
